Tiered, not a single drop
Lapopu falls in steps down limestone ledges rather than in one drop, which is what gives it that wide, layered look. A natural pool forms at the base, deep enough to swim in.
Getting in
From the parking area it is a short trek that includes a bamboo bridge over the river. The path is not long but can be slippery after rain — footwear with grip makes a real difference.
The season matters
Lapopu's flow changes dramatically through the year. From November to June the water is strong and the pool is full. From July to October it thins out considerably. We will tell you the current condition before you book, not after you arrive.
